The highlights of various activities that it is supposed to conduct on the campus include:  

1. PLACEMENT  ACTIVITIES

 An institute of the repute of P.E.C. is looked upon as a dream destination for many students completing their higher secondary education. No doubt, this is primarily because of the excellent opportunities it provides to land straight into corporate world with high-profile jobs even before the graduation is complete. Keeping this in view, the society aims at streamlining and honing the skills of its members that will help them in achieving this task. The society will conduct various mock placement activities which will include:

  (i) Seminars by final year students who have been placed giving insights into and narrating their own experiences with companies coming for campus recruitments.

(ii) Mock placement tests and interviews/GD’s keeping in view the latest recruitment procedures.

(iii) Maintaining the database of all students passing out from the college each year which will be used for informative purposes ( like the organization that he has been placed with and his contact details). The official P.E.C. website will be regularly updated regarding this.

2. ACADEMIC  ACTIVITIES

The society also aims to undertake the task of making the tutorials more interactive and beneficial for students, which till now have been marred by poor attendance on the side of students of all years who perhaps don’t find them interesting enough. It will provide them an effective voice on matters of policies that go into deciding how the structuring of tutorials should be done. An informed perspective on the development of policy on making tutorials more informative and interactive envisages:

• Opportunities for informal dialogue between Teachers and students

• A unified voice on specific issues regarding a common structure for the tutorials

• New approaches to education on campus

• Workshops on topics of interest to students

The various interactive activities it plans to conduct are:

Ø      Informative Quizzes on various current topics as well as from respective technical domains

Ø      Debates/Group Discussions among students to be evaluated by the concerned teacher

Ø      Paper- presentations by students on the topic of their own choice

Ø      Bringing audio-visual experience in for students illustrating different aspects of technological advancements through pre-recorded cassettes/video

Ø      Informal discussion on technical topics beyond the putative curriculum to enhance the knowledge base and competence of students

Ø      Software/Hardware Design and other technical contests

3. PROFESSIONAL  ORIENTATION

A problem of grave concern with our present curriculum/educational system is that it doesn’t really give students a real taste of what they are going to face in the highly competitive industrial environment after they pass out from the college. Thus one of the objectives of the society will be to organize short visits to various industries in collaboration with Training & Placement Department. Whatever feedback the students will take from these visits, they will present a summary in their respective tutorials which also serves our above mentioned purpose. We shall also invite industry professionals to deliver expert talks on the various trends followed in the industry.

4. CAREER  COUNSELING

Usually the students entering the campus of this esteemed institute every year are pretty ambitious but what most of them lack is proper guidance or career counseling. Many a times even final year students do face the same problem. This society will arrange for providing a platform from where the students can address all their problems through consultation with experts in diverse fields in collaboration with TPO and representatives from professional coaching institutes. It shall also provide for online counseling where every member can put up his query on the website and the endeavor will be to answer it promptly.

5. WEBSITE  MAINTENANCE

A website serves as a mirror to the institute giving insights and details of every activity inside the campus. The society proposes to undertake the task of maintaining and refurbishing the official website from time to time and according a very professional outlook to it.
